Your Visuals Are Speaking for You- But Are They Saying The Right Things?

We’ve all heard that saying “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover,” but let’s be honest – we do it all the time, especially online.

When somone stumbles across your website, scrolls past your Instagram post, or lands on your LinkedIn profile, they’re already forming an opinion about you within seconds. The first thing they notice? Your visuals.

I work with brilliant women in business who are smart, capable and full of passion for what they do. Most of them come to me already knowing they need photos for their brand. They’ve got the to-do list: socials, website updates, email newsletters, the works.

But here’s what I see over and over again……

The Brand Shoot Always Slips Down The List

Life gets busy. We tell ourselves a quick selfie will do. A phone snap will be fine. We’ll just use that old headsot one more time, the one where I’m slimmer, have less lines, my eyes look brighter and I’m a few years (maybe decades) younger!

Sometimes it is fine.

But more often than not, the ‘make-do’ mindset with visuals starts to quietly chip away at how people perceive your business. Your audeince starts to have questions and slowly the trust disconnects.

Lazy Imagery Can Hurt More Than You Think

It can make your brand look inconsistent. A bit hesitant. A little unsure…. even when you’re absolutely confident in what you offer.

It can stop someone clicking on your website. It can slow down that all-important trust building when someone discovers you online.

And the worst part? It hides the real you.

This is Where Brand Photography Comes In

Brand photography isn’t about a one-size-fits all ‘nice headshot.’

It’s about creating imagery that actually feels like you; the way you work, the way you speak, your values, your vibe, the moments that make your brand unique.

It’s about attracting the kind of clients who get you straight away because they can see you and they feel that connection from the start.

Professional doesn’t have to mean stiff. In fact, the strongest brands are the ones that show up as human, relatable and real.

So What Are Your Photos Saying?

Are they showing the confident, brilliant woman behind the brand? Or are they playing it safe, blending in, or sending mixed signals?
Are you taking the easy route and encorporating people into your photos because they’re a friend or family member but they’re actually not typical of your clients? Such as using your young son or daughter in the photos as a therapist when your ideal client is actually a middle aged woman? Are you using an old image of a product you used to make because you haven’t got any professional images of new products, but you don’t make that old product anymore?

Does any of this sound familiar? Can you see how confusing this can be for your audience?

If you’re ready to stop winging it with your visuals and start showing up in a way that’s clear, consistent and you, I’d love to help.

No awkward poses. Just relaxed, natural images that do your story justice and work hard for your brand across every platform.
